YWCA Harriet M. Heatherington Scholarship

The YWCA Harriet M. Heatherington Scholarship was established by Harriet M. Heatherington, a member of the YWCA of Maricopa County, to help deserving women attain their educational goals. This need-based scholarship is designed to support women pursuing vocational or undergraduate education, with preference given to women in refugee status and/or with dependents. Applicants may apply for this scholarship for up to four consecutive years, providing ongoing support throughout their educational journey. The scholarship is administered by the Arizona Community Foundation and is available to women who maintain a GPA greater than 1.99. The program specifically targets women who face additional challenges in accessing higher education, including those with refugee status or family responsibilities. The scholarship reflects the YWCA's mission of empowering women and eliminating racism, with a focus on supporting women from the Phoenix area in Maricopa County, Arizona.
