About this opportunity
The Zaha Hadid Scholars Program at the American University of Beirut is a scholarship initiative established by the Zaha Hadid Foundation to honor the life and legacy of the late architect Dame Zaha Hadid and her commitment to supporting students of architecture. Beginning in September 2025 and for each of the next three academic years, the program will fully fund and provide additional support to two architecture students for the five years of their undergraduate education at the Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at AUB. The students will be selected based on need and merit.
The program commemorates Zaha Hadid's connection to AUB, where she studied mathematics in 1968-69 and later received an Honorary Doctorate in 2006. One of her notable projects is the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs Building at AUB, completed in 2014. This scholarship represents the Zaha Hadid Foundation's commitment to nurturing emerging and future architectural talent at a university that was close to Hadid's heart.
