About This Opportunity

The Zita and Jack Rosen Award is presented to students who are First Nation, Inuit, or Métis people of Canada in accordance with the Constitution Act, 1982, Part 2, Section 35(2). This scholarship supports Indigenous students with satisfactory academic standing who are enrolled in the second, third, or fourth year in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Alberta. The award recognizes students who demonstrate a combination of academic achievement, active involvement in the Aboriginal community, and financial need. This endowed fund was established by Robert Rosen in memory of his parents, Zita and Jack Rosen, who founded the City Lumber Corporation in 1937. The scholarship aims to support Indigenous students pursuing their educational goals in the arts and humanities while maintaining connections to their community.
