About This Opportunity

The Zonta Young Women in Leadership Award is designed to assist female students who choose study leading into the possibility of a career in political or public life. This award recognizes young women, aged 16-19, for demonstrating leadership skills and commitment to public service and civic causes and encourages them to continue their participation in public and political life. Applicants must demonstrate active commitment to volunteerism, experience in local government, student government, or workplace leadership, and volunteer leadership achievements. The award requires applicants to apply through an applicable Zonta club and show knowledge of Zonta International's mission of empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy. Selection is based on demonstrated leadership skills, commitment to service for the community, and future study plans leading into careers in political or public life. This award is offered on a yearly basis through funds provided by an external donor and may not be available every year if funding is not secured.
