The centers aim to create a structured and sustainable hub for studying the EU, fostering dialogue between academic and policy worlds, and providing expertise to regional, national and international organizations. Through research, teaching and policy dialogue activities, these centers contribute to advancing understanding of the European Union and its role in an increasingly globalized and interconnected world.
Jean Monnet Actions in the field of Higher Education: Chairs
The Jean Monnet Chairs program is part of the Erasmus+ initiative supporting teaching and research excellence in European Union studies. Jean Monnet Chairs are teaching posts with a specialization in European Union studies for university professors. The program aims to promote teaching, research, and reflection in the field of European integration studies in higher education institutions worldwide. Chairs are expected to provide a minimum of 90 teaching hours per academic year in European Union studies topics. The initiative enhances the quality and relevance of education about the European Union, fosters dialogue between the academic world and society, and promotes knowledge of and debate on the European Union and its integration process.
