About this opportunity
The First Nations Australians Planning Program Scholarship has been developed by the Government of Western Australia through the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage (DPLH) to embed caring for Country within the State's land use planning system. The scholarship is a DPLH initiative to support and encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students into land use planning roles within the Department. The scholarship provides financial support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in either the Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning or Master of Urban and Regional Planning at Curtin University. Recipients receive a cash stipend of up to $15,000 per semester to contribute towards education-related expenses. For Bachelor students, this support extends for the 4-year duration of the course (up to $120,000 total), while Master students receive support for the 18-month course duration (up to $45,000 total). The scholarship aims to support students who demonstrate a desire to work on Country in the planning industry and contribute to regional and remote communities.
