About This Opportunity

The Allen Jack + Cottier Scholarship in Heritage Conservation is a postgraduate scholarship valued at $5,000 per annum, tenable for one year. This scholarship was established to encourage the study of creative reuse of historic buildings to students entering the Master of Heritage Conservation program at the University of Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning. The scholarship has been donated by AJC Architects (formerly Allen Jack+Cottier). Applicants must have an unconditional offer of admission and enroll in the Master of Heritage Conservation degree at the Sydney School of Architecture, Design and Planning. They must have a background in architectural design or closely related areas and be willing to study conservation and the creative reuse of buildings. The scholarship is awarded based on previous academic merit and a portfolio addressing how the applicant has adapted and reimagined old structures for modern functions, whilst preserving their historical value. The scholarship annual value is paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester. To maintain the scholarship, recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 each semester. The scholarship is not deferrable, suspendable, or transferable to another area of studies.
