About this opportunity
The Aziz Foundation Masters Scholarship Programme offers 100% tuition fee waivers to support British Muslims to study at UK universities. The scholarships are aimed at those who wish to advance in their careers and bring positive change to their communities and beyond. The program is dedicated to effective advocacy and enhancing public perception by facilitating better representation and contribution of Muslims to civil society to combat Islamophobia and positively transform perceptions of British Muslims, as well as community service and social development by raising the aspirations and standards within British Muslim communities.
The Foundation prioritises scholarships for candidates who can demonstrate that they cannot afford all or part of the tuition fees for their proposed Masters course. These scholarships are being given as Zakat, so applicants must self-assess to determine their Zakat eligibility. The assessment includes multiple means testing criteria including secondary school attendance as a social indicator, student debt levels, financial circumstances, caring responsibilities, and whether the applicant is the first in their family to enter Higher Education.
Eligible subject areas include Arts & Culture, Media & Journalism, Sports, Technology, Sustainability/Environment, Law, Policy (excluding Health Policy), and Philanthropy and Grant Making. Applications for Journalism, Media and Television subject areas are open all year, while applications for other subject areas are closed for 2025/26 entry. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a 30-45 minute interview.
