About this opportunity
The BAE Systems Australia William-Hicks Scholarship supports women from rural and regional Australia pursuing engineering degrees. Named after Flight Lieutenant Robyn Williams and Officer Cadet Deborah Hicks, who in 1988 became the first Australian women to become pilots in the Royal Australian Air Force, this scholarship honors pioneering women in engineering and defense. The scholarship provides $15,000 per year for up to four years to eligible first-year or second-year Bachelor of Engineering students who identify as women and are from rural/regional areas. Recipients may also be offered paid work placement opportunities with BAE Systems Australia. The scholarship aims to support students facing financial or equity barriers while encouraging their engagement with the defense and engineering industries through professional experience and placement activities.
