About this opportunity

The Swedish Research Council offers funding for clinical studies in therapy research motivated by the needs of Swedish healthcare and expected to lead to patient and societal benefits in Sweden within a relatively short time period. The grant supports clinical studies in therapy research including both intervention and observational studies, covering areas such as prevention, diagnostics, follow-up, implementation, care, and rehabilitation. The grant enables a constellation of researchers within regions and academia to collaborate with a common research goal. Applications are submitted through a two-stage process, with stage 1 consisting of a sketch application evaluated on feasibility, and stage 2 requiring a full application with detailed study plans, comprehensive budget descriptions, CV data of participating researchers, and support letters from all participating regions. The funding period is 4 years starting January 2027, with amounts ranging from at least 1 million SEK per year to a maximum of 20 million SEK for the entire 4-year period. National collaboration between at least 5 Swedish regions is required, and the study must be led by a researcher with experience in clinical studies in therapy research who holds a clinical position in Sweden.
