About this opportunity
A University of Sydney RTP rate stipend scholarship for a PhD student within the School of Life and Environmental Sciences (SOLES) to undertake research in grain quality and proteomics. The scholarship is funded by The Bruce Veness Chandler Fund and supports students undertaking doctoral research within the Faculty of Science. The focus of the successful candidate's research will be on determining the effects of crop heat stress and elevated atmospheric CO2 on the grain quality and proteome of wheat, barley and chickpea. The outputs of the research will be used in gene discovery for plant breeding, and the work will be done in collaboration with several academic staff in SOLES. The scholarship provides a stipend allowance equivalent to the University of Sydney Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend rate for up to 3.5 years, subject to satisfactory academic performance.
