About this opportunity
The Faculty of Health at the University of Technology Sydney is seeking one candidate to undertake a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) with a focus on investigating the needs of refugee populations in NSW. This is an exciting research opportunity for outstanding PhD candidates to work collaboratively on a NSW Health-funded project. The research is open to proposals including but not limited to topics such as mental health, end-of-life and palliative care, and women's health. The scholarship is particularly interested in a qualitative project that fits within the scope of the mixed-methods approach of this research. The project is linked to a larger Australian National Health and Medical Research Council funded Ideas Grant, 'Creating Health in a New Home', which takes a transformative approach to building evidence for refugee health across generations. The PhD candidate will work collaboratively with a team of investigators, postdoctoral fellows and other PhD students, with supervision from Professor Angela Dawson and others. The research involves strong engagement with community and health services stakeholders. The successful applicant will be based within a rich research culture within the Faculty of Health, UTS Sydney and collaborate with partners in health services and community organisations.
