About this opportunity
The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology. This specific research opportunity focuses on understanding various aspects of the dynamics, structure, and chemistry of planetary atmospheres. Current investigations include studies of the dynamics and internal heat flow of Uranus and Neptune; atmospheric superrotation and circulation of Saturn's moon Titan; Saturn ring seismology to reveal properties of Saturn's interior; and the thermal structure and chemistry of exoplanetary atmospheres. Potential new projects include a study of atmospheric evolution in Super Earths. The fellowship is located at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, under the advisorship of Dr. Andrew James Friedson.
