About this opportunity

EPSRC Doctoral Landscape Awards (previously known as Doctoral Training Partnership awards) enables departments to support doctoral students across a wide range of Engineering and Physical Science research areas. Due to the flexible nature of the Landscape funding, the number of studentships available each year vary as Departments may leverage other funding opportunities, e.g. with Industry Partners, Colleges and other University funding. Studentships are fully-funded at the Home fee rate and UKRI stipend level. Funding for consumable costs, and training (which is an integral part of all doctoral studentships), are also provided. Up to 30% of awards may be made to international students. In addition to the skills gained during the PhD research, students also undertake a Researcher Development programme, with courses and activities tailored to their needs and selected from a wide range of provision. This equips those completing their doctoral programmes to develop the broad skill set which will make them well-placed to develop into future leaders across a range of careers in the academic, industrial and public sectors. Students have access to a Research Training Support Grant (RTSG) of approximately £1,500 per year, to cover project-specific consumables and equipment.
