About This Opportunity

The Gerard Driesen Scholarship is designed to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in Vocational Education (VE) programs at RMIT University who face circumstances impacting their education. This scholarship provides financial assistance to Indigenous students pursuing certificate IV, diploma, or advanced diploma qualifications. The scholarship recognizes that various life circumstances can create barriers to educational success, including financial hardship, disability, geographic relocation, or coming from under-represented backgrounds. Preference is given to students enrolling in creative studies such as design, visual arts, custom-made footwear, photography, and screenwriting. The scholarship aims to support educational access and success for Indigenous students by providing stipend payments throughout their vocational education journey, including pathways from certificate level through to advanced diploma or degree programs in the same discipline.
