Herder Institute for Historical Research on East-Central Europe: Herder Fellowship
About This Opportunity
The Herder Fellowship Programme is aimed at researchers of all qualification levels (doctoral students, postdocs and proven experts in historical research on East Central Europe), especially from East Central European countries and other Western European countries. It enables a short-term, intensive research stay of up to 4 weeks in the library and the scientific collections of the Herder Institute and is endowed with 1,900 EUR. Fellows have the option of staying in the guest house in the Behring Villa for the duration of their stay. In addition, fellows have the opportunity to present their project plans at one of the meetings of the Herder Institute Research Academy. The fellowship specifically targets PhD students and postdocs mainly from East-Central European countries and Western Europe (excluding Germany) doing research on East-Central European history. About 10 fellowships are awarded each year, supporting intensive research work in a dedicated historical research environment.
