About this opportunity
The Joseph Bullick Scholarship Fund was established at The Pittsburgh Foundation in memory of two important women in Joseph Bullick's life: Kathleen Fitzpatrick, who provided him a home during his childhood, and his mother, Elizabeth Evans. The scholarship benefits graduating seniors at North Allegheny High School who demonstrate the values of caring and service in their community and whose future career paths reflect a desire to continue this mission.
Joseph Bullick was an employee of North Allegheny High School for 40 years and a lifelong resident of the community it serves. He started as a custodian at Ingomar Elementary and eventually became Supervisor of Custodial Services for the district. Throughout his career, Joe coached the N.A. Girls Golf Team for 12 years, the N.A. 9th Grade Softball Team for 17 years, and the N.A. Boys and Girls Bowling Teams until his retirement.
This single-year scholarship award of approximately $1,000 is intended for students who have distinguished themselves through volunteer service to school, religious, and/or community organizations. Preference is given to applicants who have faced social, economic, or educational barriers due to systemic gender inequity. Recipients must demonstrate financial need, maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, and plan to attend a 4-year college or university.
