About this opportunity

The Lambeth Community Fund is a charitable venture set up to support the borough today and long into the future, responding over time to the changing needs of local people. It was established in 2008 by the transfer of the trusteeship of the Pedlar's Acre endowment from Lambeth Council. The fund is made up of a number of endowments including the Pedlars Acre Fund, the Portuguese Fund and the Beaufoy Trust Fund, consolidated so that community groups can apply to one fund with one set of criteria. The fund supports community organizations based in Lambeth with an annual income of £250,000 or less. Applications must address at least one of four themes: Resilient Futures (environmental work for healthier communities), Safer Communities (improving safety and community connections), A Place Called Home (promoting healthy and active lives and inclusive economy), or A Fair and Equitable Borough (tackling poverty and supporting marginalized groups including Black, Asian and Multi-ethnic residents, LGBTQ+ residents, disabled residents, or women and girls). Applications should work with the most disadvantaged members of the community who are not currently accessing services, actively involve benefiting communities in planning projects, and work in partnership with other Lambeth organisations. Priority is given to organizations that have not previously been funded through The Lambeth Community Fund. Some specific funding is available for projects benefiting the Portuguese-speaking community or supporting young people aged under 25 into positive activities. Grants of up to £10,000 per year for 2 years (£20,000 total) are available. Organisations with total income in their last financial year above £5,000 should not apply for more than 50% of their annual turnover.
