About This Opportunity

The Lucy Firth Sydney University Postgraduate Scholarship supports PhD students commencing full-time studies in the School of Psychology at the University of Sydney. This scholarship was established in 1997 from the estate of Ms Lucy Firth, an arts graduate from the University of Sydney who worked as a research assistant in the School of Psychology after graduation. The scholarship provides an annual stipend allowance of $10,000 (fixed rate) for one year to support doctoral research in psychology. Recipients are selected based on academic merit, area of study and research proposal, curriculum vitae, and feedback from two academic referees. Preference is given to applicants enrolled full-time in a PhD within the School of Psychology. Eligible applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents with an unconditional offer of admission or current enrollment in a PhD within the School of Psychology. They must hold an honours degree (first class or second class upper) or a master's degree in a related field with a substantial research component, or equivalent. The scholarship cannot be held concurrently with an alternative primary scholarship administered by the University of Sydney.
