About this opportunity
The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology. This specific research opportunity invites projects using chemistry transport models and air quality models, combined with in situ and remote-sensing data, to better understand and forecast tropospheric chemistry and air quality from regional- to global-scales. An important aspect involves demonstrating how in situ and remote-sensing data can improve the ability of models to replicate and forecast tropospheric composition. Projects will investigate processes controlling atmospheric concentrations of trace gases and aerosol, utilizing regional and global networks of in situ measurements and field campaigns. Projects emphasizing the use of satellite and ground-based remote-sensing, particularly NASA's TEMPO geostationary sensor, will be prioritized.
