About this opportunity
The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects. This specific fellowship focuses on LISA, a planned joint NASA/ESA mission to measure gravitational waves from space. The research involves studying astrophysical sources for LISA including compact binaries, mergers of supermassive black holes, and inspirals of compact stellar-mass objects. The fellow will work with Dr. Cutler on developing methods and tools for LISA data analysis, including studies on parameter extraction accuracy, developing computationally efficient strategies for signal detection, and participating in Mock LISA Data Challenges. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology. The fellowship is located at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.
