About this opportunity

The Scottish Rite Foundation, Southern Jurisdiction, U.S.A., Inc. offers two types of national scholarships to support educational pursuits: Named One-Year/One-Time Scholarships and Named Endowed Scholarships. These scholarships are available to United States citizens and U.S. permanent residents for study at accredited public or private colleges, universities, or trade schools within the United States. The scholarship program includes 15 endowed scholarships and 8 annual scholarships, with award amounts ranging from $1,000 to $9,000. Most scholarships require applicants to have a connection to Scottish Rite (membership or family relationship), Blue Lodge membership/relationship, or Masonic Youth Group membership (DeMolay International, International Order of Rainbow for Girls, or Job's Daughters International). Some scholarships are field-specific (nursing, dental hygiene, speech pathology, education) while others are open to various undergraduate or graduate programs. The application period runs from January 6 to April 3 each year, with recipients notified by July 1. The Sovereign Grand Commander's Scholarship is notable for being renewable for up to four years, while most other scholarships are one-year awards. Applicants must demonstrate volunteer experience and leadership ability in keeping with Masonry's high ethical and moral standards for certain scholarships.
