About this opportunity
The Newton Fellowship is funded by the Anne & Bill Newton Endowment Fund and awarded by the Robert W. Woodruff Library to one advanced graduate student at Emory University. The fellowship provides an opportunity for the selected student to work closely with the staff of the Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library on instruction and outreach projects.
The Anne and Bill Newton Fellow will conduct 2-4 short-term projects related to the Rose Library's instruction and outreach program. Primary responsibilities include researching, designing, and assessing instructional curriculum that incorporates Rose Library exhibitions for undergraduate courses. Additionally, the fellow will utilize their teaching, writing, and research skills to curate an exhibition connecting the Rose Library's collections to campus-wide discussions.
The fellow will be assigned to the Research Services Unit of Rose Library. While an interest in the public functions of libraries and archives is preferred, it is not a required qualification. This fellowship offers graduate students valuable experience in archival instruction, exhibition curation, and public humanities work.
