About This Opportunity

The NASA Short-term Prediction Research and Transition (SPoRT) Center at Marshall Space Flight Center is an end-to-end research-to-applications project focused on innovating tailored products and capabilities that meet user needs to support decision-making. With a focus on user-centered research, SPoRT aims to advance the understanding of weather, air quality, and hydrology for amplifying the state of the art and benefit of NASA Earth Science missions, models, and capabilities for societal benefit. This NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) opportunity offers one- to three-year postdoctoral fellowships for highly-talented scientists to engage in NASA research projects. Available opportunities include exploration of foundation models for Earth Science research, use of remote sensing and machine learning for air quality and human health research, advancing understanding of extreme weather events through remote sensing and models, and linking processes across the Earth System involving planetary boundary layer processes. The program is designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology.
