About this opportunity
The Paul Tomkinson Scholarship in Surveying is designed to support students in surveying and spatial information programs at RMIT University who face circumstances that impact their ability to study. The scholarship provides up to $10,000 per year ($5,000 per semester) for up to four years. This scholarship was established in recognition of Paul Tomkinson's passion for regional towns and their people, his insistence on excellence and his commitment to supporting the surveying profession. Paul Tomkinson was a licensed surveyor who established his company in 1973 to serve the growing land development needs of regional Victoria. He was the first in his family to attend university, having trained at RMIT as a land surveyor. The scholarship continues his legacy by supporting students from diverse backgrounds including those from rural and regional areas, students with disabilities, students from under-represented backgrounds, and those facing personal or financial challenges. Preference is given to rural and regional students, reflecting Paul's dedication to regional communities.
