About this opportunity

The Quad City Engineering & Science Council (QCESC) offers grants to support STEM education and learning for students age 4-18 (grades Pre-K through 12th grade). These grants are designed to fund STEM materials, kits, training, transportation for participants, and food for participants. Grant applications are accepted twice per year with maximum awards of $2,500. The program prioritizes support for underserved and low-income students, as well as students underrepresented in STEM fields including African Americans, Native Americans, Alaskan Natives, Hispanics, and females. Recipients are required to present their experience and results at a future QCESC meeting. The grants are available to schools (public or private), 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, or public libraries serving students in the QCESC region, which includes specific counties in Illinois (Carroll, Henry, Knox, Lee, Mercer, Rock Island, and Whiteside) and Iowa (Clinton, Louisa, Muscatine, and Scott).
