About This Opportunity

A postgraduate research scholarship up to $40,000 per annum for a PhD student to undertake research developing gene therapy for rare genetic kidney disease. This scholarship is funded by New South Wales (NSW) Health and the University of Sydney as part of the NSW Health Gene and Cell Therapy PhD Program. The scholarship provides a stipend allowance for up to 3.5 years, subject to satisfactory academic performance. The successful recipient will conduct research as part of a project focused on developing gene therapy for rare genetic kidney disease within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney. The recipient must hold an undergraduate degree with at least a credit average or equivalent and have research experience through an honours program or hold a Masters Degree by Research in a relevant subject. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in molecular biology skills, understanding of immunology, interest in gene therapy, and interest in animal models.
