About This Opportunity

The TEACH Grant Program provides grants of up to $4,000 a year to students who are completing or plan to complete course work needed to begin a career in teaching. This federal student aid program supports undergraduate, postbaccalaureate, and graduate students enrolled in TEACH-Grant-eligible programs at participating schools. As a condition for receiving the grant, recipients must sign an Agreement to Serve and commit to teaching in a high-need field at an elementary school, secondary school, or educational service agency that serves students from low-income families for at least four complete academic years within eight years after completing their course of study. Recipients must also meet academic achievement requirements, generally scoring above the 75th percentile on college admissions tests or maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25. It is important to note that if the service obligation requirements are not met, all TEACH Grants received will be converted to Direct Unsubsidized Loans that must be repaid in full with interest charged from the date of each disbursement.
