About this opportunity

The Fiona Lavelle and Tinesh Tamilkodi Memorial Scholarship is generously supported by St John WA. One scholarship valued at $20,000 will be open to applications from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students undertaking an eligible health sciences degree at Edith Cowan University. This scholarship reflects Fiona's passion for lifelong learning and supporting the next generation of St John WA team members and serves as a living testament to the spirit and unwavering commitment demonstrated by Tinesh throughout his service to humanity as a member of the St John WA team. The scholarship supports full-time undergraduate students enrolled in eligible health science courses including Bachelor of Biomedical Science, Bachelor of Health Science, Bachelor of Science (Paramedical Science), Bachelor of Science (Nursing Studies), Bachelor of Science (Nursing), or Bachelor of Science (Nursing)/Bachelor of Science (Midwifery). The award is valued at $20,000 total over 2 years. Applicants must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, maintain a course progression status of GREEN, and not be in receipt of another scholarship valued over $5,000. Applicants are required to submit a personal statement of no more than 500 words demonstrating their drive and commitment to their chosen area of study, describing their cultural connection to Country and community, and explaining how the scholarship will assist in addressing barriers to education, financial hardship, or other personal difficulties.
