About this opportunity
The Gwen and David Moore Aboriginal Scholarship is a yearly scholarship established in 2015 to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at the University of Sydney. The scholarship is funded by a trust established under the will of David Rainsford Moore to assist persons of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent to undertake tertiary studies applicable to their heritage. The scholarship provides financial support to full-time undergraduate students enrolled in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences who are pursuing a major in Archaeology, Anthropology, History, or Sociology with a focus on Aboriginal Heritage. The scholarship is valued at $36,323 per year and is tenable for up to four years for the duration of undergraduate studies. Recipients receive both a stipend allowance of $20,000 per annum and a tuition contribution of $16,323. Selection is based on a personal statement, enrollment in an eligible major, and demonstrated Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
