About this opportunity
The Tom Austen Brown Undergraduate Scholarship in Archaeology provides financial support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students undertaking studies in First Nations archaeology at the University of Sydney. Established in 2004 and funded by the Tom Austen Brown Bequest, this scholarship is designed to support Indigenous students pursuing undergraduate archaeology studies. The scholarship provides $22,000 per annum for the full duration of an eligible degree, which may be a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Advanced Studies, or Diploma of Arts. Recipients must be undertaking a major in Archaeology and identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity, and personal statements demonstrating commitment to studying First Nations Archaeology. To maintain the scholarship, recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 50 each semester.
