John and Irene Basaraba Scholarship in Engineering
The John and Irene Basaraba Scholarship in Engineering is awarded to rural Alberta residents entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Alberta. John and Irene Basaraba Engineering Scholarship
The John and Irene Basaraba Engineering Scholarship is awarded to an Alberta resident with superior academic achievement entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Alberta. Selection is based on admission average and indicated financial need. This endowed scholarship was established by John and Irene Basaraba in loving memory of their parents to support incoming engineering students who demonstrate both academic excellence and financial need.
John and Eileen Jorgens Scholarship - Renewable
The John and Eileen Jorgens Scholarship is awarded annually to Alberta residents with superior academic achievement entering the first year of a BSc. in Nutrition and Food Science, BSc. in Environmental and Conservation Sciences, or BSc. in Agriculture (Agricultural and Resource Economics major). Recipients are selected on the basis of Grade 11 and/or Grade 12 final marks and leadership involvement in community and extracurricular activities. Preference is given to applicants from an Alberta farming or ranching family where the primary income of the family is derived from the farm/ranch, although students from urban centres are also encouraged to apply. This scholarship is renewable for a second year provided the recipient maintains superior academic standing with a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a minimum of 24 credits over the most recent September to April period. The award is made through the Faculty of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences at the University of Alberta and is funded by an endowment from Mr. and Mrs. John and Eileen Jorgens.
Harold B Banister Dean's Undergraduate Citation in Business - Renewable
Awarded to a student entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program in the School of Business at the University of Alberta. Recipients will be selected on the basis of superior academic standing. Preference is given to Alberta residents. This is a renewable scholarship available for four years (first through fourth year) of undergraduate business studies. Renewal of funding for the second, third and fourth year is contingent upon achieving a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a minimum 24 credits over the most recent September to April period in the School of Business each year.
Gardener Brothers Scholarships in Nutrition and Food Sciences
The Gardener Brothers Scholarships in Nutrition and Food Sciences is awarded annually to Alberta residents entering the first year of the BSc Nutrition and Food Sciences degree program at the University of Alberta. The scholarship recognizes students with superior academic achievement and recipients are selected based on their admission average. This scholarship is part of the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences and is funded through an endowment established by Ted Gardener, Theo Gardener, and Ed Gardener of Edmonton.
Florence Isabel MacKenzie Scholarship
The Florence Isabel MacKenzie Scholarship is awarded to students with superior academic achievement entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program at the University of Alberta. Selection is based on admission average with preference given to Alberta residents. The scholarship is funded annually by the Estate of Florence Isabel MacKenzie and the Florence MacKenzie Fund at the Edmonton Community Foundation.
Elaine A (Ross) Nye Scholarship in Education and Science
The Elaine A (Ross) Nye Scholarship in Education and Science is awarded to Alberta residents with superior academic achievement who are entering the first year of the Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Science (Secondary) Combined Degree program at Augustana Faculty, University of Alberta. The scholarship recognizes academic excellence and supports students pursuing a combined degree in education and science at the secondary level.
