Kamakahoohie Scholarship

The Reid J.K. Richards Foundation was established in 1999 in memory of Reid James Kamakahoohie Richards, who passed away following a courageous battle with lymphoma. The primary objective of the foundation is to provide the support necessary to aid grieving children and young adults who have lost a parent or primary caretaker through death. The loss of a parent or primary caretaker often results in financial hardship that can limit the potential achievements for many young people. To alleviate the financial burden, the Reid J.K. Richards Foundation has established the Kamakahoohie Scholarship, which provides financial support to bereaved individuals up to the age of 25. The purpose of the scholarship is to help these young people in achieving their academic goals through financial assistance. The scholarship amounts range from $2,000 to $7,500, with the foundation's scholarship nominating committee determining the number and amount of each scholarship following the application deadline. Applicants must have lost a parent or primary caretaker through death and be no older than 25 years of age. James B. "Monty" Moncrief Scholarship Program

Brady & Patrick Gallagher Memorial Scholarship

Clarence L. Remynse Scholarship

Bob Block Memorial Scholarship

This one-time, non-renewable scholarship honors the memory of Bob Block, an award-winning diver from Loy Norrix who became an NCAA Division III champion at Alma College and returned to Kalamazoo to become a premier coach for swimmers and divers before his untimely death in an auto accident in the 1990s. The scholarship is remembered for honoring Block's competitive yet caring nature when working with young people. Recipients must be high school seniors enrolling full-time in an associates or bachelor's degree program, demonstrate financial need, maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, and show dedication to competitive swimming or diving. Dominic & Barbara Court Family Scholarship Fund

The Dominic and Barbara Court Family Scholarship was established from the estate of Barbara Court and is intended to provide scholarships to students enrolled in a Veterinary Medicine graduate program at an accredited not-for-profit college or university. This scholarship supports residents of Kalamazoo or Calhoun County who demonstrate financial need and have at least five years of employment history after high school. The scholarship is designed for adults pursuing career transitions into community service professions through various educational programs including associate's degrees, bachelor's degrees, graduate degrees, professional development, or vocational/trade certification. The award amount is $500 or more and is a one-time, non-renewable scholarship that can be applied to any items under the school's cost of attendance.

Earl Haas Scholarship

He was finishing a degree in Logistics Management at Western Michigan University when, at the age of 22, his life was cut short as a result of an in-line skating accident while interning in Isny, Germany. Brian, a 1990 graduate of Portage Northern High School, spent four years on the varsary soccer team. Although he loved to play the game, he found just as much, if not more, excitement and pleasure on the sideline coaching. This scholarship honors his legacy of dedication to soccer, leadership, and community service.

Ann N. MacGregor Scholarship

The Ann N. MacGregor Scholarship was established in 2007 through a gift from the estate of Ann N. MacGregor to provide scholarship assistance for incoming freshmen, undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in a visual arts curriculum. The scholarship provides $5,000 or more in one-time, non-renewable financial assistance to students pursuing visual arts education. While demonstrating financial need is not required, it is preferred. This scholarship is designed to support students from Kalamazoo County who are pursuing associate, bachelor's, or graduate degrees in visual arts. LPEA Lineworker Scholarship

LPEA is giving away two scholarships for high school graduating students interested in becoming lineworkers. Each winner receives $12,000 for tuition, fees, and books for up to one year at an electrical lineworker school. Any overages following payment of tuition and fees can be used to pay for required and necessary tools and supplies. Applicants must be members of LPEA and high school graduates from schools within LPEA's service territory, including Durango, Bayfield, Pagosa Springs, and Ignacio. LPEA John Voelker Memorial Scholarships

Propulsion Gel Applied Sciences Grant

Building on decades of gel-based propulsion research, this grant funds applied science projects exploring novel uses for conversion gel, propulsion gel, and repulsion gel technologies.
