Zahra Memorial Scholarship
The Zahra Memorial Scholarship is offered annually to continuing undergraduate students enrolled in fourth year in the Haskayne School of Business with a concentration in Finance at the University of Calgary. The scholarship recognizes academic merit and emphasizes the importance of community engagement through extra-curricular activities or interests involving community service or volunteerism. Established by the friends and family of Zahra, this award provides up to $1,000 to support students who demonstrate both academic excellence and a commitment to giving back to their community. Four scholarships are available each year to eligible fourth-year Finance students.
Woitas Family Leaders Scholarship
The Woitas Family Leaders Scholarship was established by Linda and Clayton Woitas and family to recognize the leadership, academic and entrepreneurial ability of students pursuing an undergraduate degree at the University of Calgary. This scholarship is offered annually to undergraduate students in the Schulich School of Engineering and Haskayne School of Business who are enrolled in the Bachelor of Science (Engineering) and Bachelor of Commerce combined degree program. The award recognizes students who demonstrate academic merit along with leadership qualities and entrepreneurial ability. Two scholarships of $10,000 each are available annually to eligible students who are in their second, third, or fourth year of study in the combined Engineering and Business degree program.
William (Bill) Inmon Scholarship for Excellence in Business & Data Analytics
The William (Bill) Inmon Scholarship for Excellence in Business & Data Analytics is offered annually to a continuing undergraduate student enrolled in the Haskayne School of Business in the Business Analytics concentration. This scholarship recognizes academic merit and provides financial support to students excelling in the field of business data analytics. The scholarship is made possible through the generous support of Wade Walker and Dr. Kewal Dhariwal through the Data Management Conference - Canada. This award is designed to support students pursuing excellence in the specialized area of business analytics at the University of Calgary.
van Weelderen Family High School Scholarship
The van Weelderen Family High School Scholarship is offered annually to an undergraduate student entering first year in the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary. The scholarship recognizes academic merit with a minimum admission average of 90% and demonstrated contribution to community extra-curricular activities. This entrance scholarship provides financial support to high-achieving high school students transitioning to university business studies. Established through the generosity of donors Aarnoud and Monica van Weelderen, this award aims to support exceptional students who have demonstrated both academic excellence and community engagement during their high school years.
Ursula O. and Herbert Zandmer Combined Degree Scholarship
The Ursula O. and Herbert Zandmer Combined Degree Scholarship is offered annually to continuing undergraduate students in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary. The scholarship provides two awards, with one designated for a student majoring in Chemical Engineering and one for a student majoring in Oil or Gas Engineering. At least one award is given in each major. Preference is given to students registered in a combined degree program in the Faculty of Arts or Haskayne School of Business. Recipients are selected based on academic merit. This scholarship was established through the Estate of Ursula O. and Herbert Zandmer to support engineering students pursuing combined degree programs.
Trimac Transportation Undergraduate Scholarship in Supply Chain Management
Established by Trimac Transportation to recognize students pursuing supply chain management and demonstrated academic excellence. This scholarship is offered annually to a continuing undergraduate student in their third year at the Haskayne School of Business, majoring in Supply Chain Management. The award recognizes academic merit as well as extra-curricular activities demonstrating exceptional leadership, communication and problem solving skills.
Trevor Sawatzky Undergraduate Scholarship
The Trevor Sawatzky Undergraduate Scholarship is offered annually to a continuing undergraduate student in the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary. This scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate both academic merit and significant contributions to fostering and promoting a positive student experience for Haskayne School of Business students. Eligible students must show involvement in student clubs and/or organizations, and participate in a variety of student events and initiatives designed to enrich student life. The scholarship provides up to $1,800 to support one deserving student each year. This internal award is made possible through the generosity of donor Trevor Sawatzky and reflects the value placed on both academic excellence and community engagement within the business school.
Thomas W. Buchanan Scholarship in Business
The Thomas W. Buchanan Scholarship in Business is offered annually to a continuing undergraduate student entering third or fourth year in the Haskayne School of Business, Accounting concentration. The scholarship was established in honour of Thomas W. Buchanan (BCOMM '80) being named 2013 recipient of the HSB MAX award recognizing outstanding success, personal achievement and extraordinary service to the school and the community. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit and provides up to $1,400 to one qualified student per year.
Susan L. Riddell Rose Distinguished Business Leader Scholarship
Established in honour of Susan Riddell Rose, 2012 Recipient of the Distinguished Business Leader Award (DBLA), this scholarship recognizes the hard work and commitment of today's business students aspiring to be the next generation of business leaders. The scholarship is offered annually to a continuing undergraduate student entering third year in the Haskayne School of Business. Preference is given to students in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, with second preference given to Energy Management students. Recipients are selected based on academic merit.
Suncor Energy Emerging Leaders Business Scholarship
The Suncor Energy Emerging Leaders Business Scholarship is offered annually to continuing undergraduate students in the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary. The scholarship recognizes academic merit among students majoring in various business disciplines including Accounting, Business Process Management, Energy Management, Finance, Human Resources, International Business, International Business Strategy, Management Information Systems, Marketing, Operations Management, Petroleum Land Management, Risk Management, Insurance & Finance, Risk Management & Insurance, or Supply Chain Management. This award supports emerging leaders in business education who are pursuing their undergraduate degrees in these specialized fields.
Spencer Dial Memorial Scholarship in Business
The Spencer Dial Memorial Scholarship in Business was established in 2018 by family and friends in memory of Spencer Dial, a Haskayne business student. This annual scholarship recognizes a continuing undergraduate student entering third or fourth year in the Haskayne School of Business who exemplifies Spencer's creative spirit and values. The award is based on academic merit and requires applicants to submit a personal statement in the form of a video (no more than 10 minutes long) demonstrating how they embody Spencer's creative spirit and values. The scholarship provides financial support to business students who demonstrate both academic excellence and the creative, value-driven qualities that characterized Spencer Dial's life and studies.
Sonia Scurfield Scholarship
The Sonia Scurfield Scholarship was established in recognition of the participation of the late Ralph Scurfield in bringing the Flames Hockey team to Calgary. The scholarship is offered annually to one male and one female continuing undergraduate student entering second year at the Haskayne School of Business, Bachelor of Commerce program. Recipients must be active members of a Dinos Varsity team (not practice squad) and demonstrate academic merit. The scholarship is renewable in the third and fourth year at the University of Calgary, provided recipients achieve a minimum GPA of 3.20 over a minimum of 18.00 units completed in the previous fall and winter terms. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents.
Senator Stan Waters Memorial Scholarship
The Senator Stan Waters Memorial Scholarship is offered annually to continuing undergraduate students entering third or fourth year in the Haskayne School of Business, the Schulich School of Engineering or the Faculty of Arts, majoring in Political Science. The award recognizes academic merit and demonstrated leadership in student government and student activities, preferably with a business and/or political direction. Recipients must also demonstrate involvement in scholastic or extra-curricular activities that promote the development of superior communication skills. Up to $5,000 is available, with two awards granted annually.
RSM Canada - Norman Hames Memorial Scholarship
The RSM Canada - Norman Hames Memorial Scholarship is offered annually to a continuing undergraduate student entering fourth year in the Haskayne School of Business with an Accounting concentration. The scholarship recognizes academic merit and is awarded to students registered in three senior level accounting courses in their fourth year who express an intention of pursuing the Chartered Accountancy program. This internal scholarship provides financial support to outstanding accounting students as they progress toward professional certification in the field of accounting.
