Stantec Bursary

Lakeland College

The Stantec Bursary is a financial aid opportunity for students at Lakeland College. The Peter J. Gulak Renewable Scholarship was established in 1993 by Servus Credit Union Ltd. This renewable scholarship is specifically designed for students who have already received the Peter J. The award recognizes students who demonstrate academic achievement, commitment to the team and to the sport of rowing, leadership qualities within the team, a desire to succeed, and who are ambitious and of good character. This memorial award honors Lacey Longworth's legacy through supporting student-athletes who exemplify these values.

Growing Minds In Agriculture Technology Scholarship

Established in 2021 by Edward Reddy, the Growing Minds in Agriculture Technology Scholarship is available to students who have completed an Agricultural Sciences diploma and are returning to full-time studies in the Fall at Lakeland College in the Bachelor of Agriculture Technology at the Vermilion campus. The scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement and demonstration of how the student has overcome barriers to achieve their educational goals and enhance their career opportunities. Applicants must be Canadian citizens and include a 500-word essay answering the question: How have you overcome barriers to achieve your educational goals and enhance your career opportunities? The scholarship provides financial support to help students continue their agricultural education at the bachelor's degree level.

Governor General's Academic Medal

The Governor General's Academic Medal is a national award administered by the Chancellery of Canadian Orders and Declarations. Since 1988, Lakeland College has been given the opportunity to award a medal annually to the student who achieves the highest academic standing in the final year of a diploma level post-secondary program with a minimum 2 year full-time duration. The medal is presented at the Convocation Ceremony on the recipient's respective campus. Established in 2005, The George Neil Wilson and Ethel (Sloan) Wilson Memorial Scholarship is available to Canadian citizens or landed immigrants who are graduating from a Lakeland College program to enroll in full-time university level studies at Lakeland College or any Canadian university. The scholarship is awarded based on academic achievements, extracurricular involvement in school or community, and general deportment and effort.
