Prince of Wales College Class of 1938 Award

University of Prince Edward Island

This award is presented to the student from the current graduating class who is receiving a Bachelor of Science (BSc) with a Major or Honours in Biology and who has achieved the highest aggregate in the core Biology courses. The award recognizes outstanding academic achievement in biology at the undergraduate level. The Prince of Wales College Class of 1938 established this generous endowment fund at UPEI to support an award for a student who best exemplifies Prince of Wales College's tradition of excellence. The story of Prince of Wales College (PWC) dates back to 1804, when Edmund Fanning, the Island's second Lieutenant-Governor, granted two blocks of his own land to the Crown, as a site for the purpose of laying the foundation of a College for the education of youth in the learned languages, the arts and sciences, and all the branches of useful and polite literature.
