Zonta Club of Charlottetown Business Administration Award
The Zonta Club of Charlottetown Business Administration Award is presented to a female student entering the final year of the Business Administration program who has a strong academic record and exhibits leadership qualities. Zonta International is a worldwide service organization of executives in business and the professions working together to advance the legal, political, economic, health, and professional status of women. As a millennium project, the Zonta Club of Charlottetown published a book, Making History: A Celebration of Prince Edward Island Women of the 20th Century. The Club has donated the proceeds from the sales of this book to create a scholarship at UPEI to fulfill its mission to encourage female students to achieve higher education and pursue leadership positions. The Zonta Club of Charlottetown has contributed to a variety of local service initiatives over the years including the establishing of student awards at UPEI.
Zoetis Award for Excellence in Companion Animal Health Care
The Zoetis Award for Excellence in Companion Animal Health Care is a prestigious award offered to graduating students in Veterinary Medicine at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) of the University of Prince Edward Island. This award recognizes outstanding achievement in clinical practice and patient care. The award specifically honors students who demonstrate exemplary clinical skills and dedication to patient care, with particular emphasis on three critical areas of veterinary medicine: parasitology, pain management, and overall health and wellness of companion animals. This recognition celebrates students who have shown excellence in their clinical training and commitment to providing the highest quality of care to animals.
Wilbert C. McInnis Entrance Scholarship in Business
The Wilbert C. McInnis Entrance Scholarship in Business is awarded to a student who has graduated from a Prince Edward Island high school and is entering the Faculty of Business at the University of Prince Edward Island. The scholarship requires a minimum average of 75% and recognizes students who contribute to the community through volunteer work. In the event of two or more equally qualified candidates, financial need will be considered. This scholarship was created by Dan and David McInnis to honour their father, Wilbert C. McInnis, who graduated from St. Dunstan's University in 1951 and received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from UPEI in 1995. Mr. McInnis devoted his life to developing the family insurance brokerage firm, Peake and McInnis, and served on various community boards including the UPEI Board of Governors, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Board, and the PEI School of Nursing Board.
Westland Insurance Business Student Award
The Westland Insurance Business Student Award is presented to a graduating Business student at the University of Prince Edward Island who demonstrates excellence across multiple dimensions. This award recognizes students who have combined a high degree of academic achievement with demonstrated interest and leadership in the field of business. The award reflects Westland Insurance's commitment to supporting local communities and investing in education. This award is one expression of that commitment, recognizing and supporting emerging business leaders at UPEI who exemplify academic excellence, passion for their field, and leadership qualities.
Wallace G. (Wally) Wood Memorial Award
The Wallace G. (Wally) Wood Memorial Award is a scholarship provided by the University of Prince Edward Island to support veterinary medicine students. This award will be given to a fourth year student in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program who has demonstrated aptitude and leadership in the Equine reproduction program. The recipient will be recommended by the AVC Awards Committee representative from the Health Management Department in consultation with related faculty, and the final award recipient will be approved by the AVC Awards Committee. This award recognizes excellence in a specialized area of veterinary medicine and supports students pursuing careers in equine veterinary practice.
W. Chester S. McLure Memorial Fellowship
The W. Chester S. McLure Memorial Fellowship is awarded to one or more graduating UPEI students to assist in continuing studies in the areas of Business Administration or Political Studies. The fellowship provides financial support of up to $10,000 to help students pursue graduate-level education at prestigious institutions. Preference is given to students studying at York University, Boston University, Harvard University, Oxford University, Cambridge University, London School of Economics (London, England), Dalhousie University or University of Prince Edward Island. This memorial fellowship honors the legacy of W. Chester S. McLure and supports outstanding students as they advance their academic careers in business or political studies.
Vetoquinol Award in Pain Management (House Officers Award)
The Vetoquinol Award in Pain Management (House Officers Award) is a merit-based award offered by the University of Prince Edward Island's Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC). This award recognizes excellence in the field of veterinary medicine, specifically targeting interns and residents at AVC who demonstrate significant interest and proficiency in pain management. With a maximum value of $1,000, this award supports the professional development of veterinary professionals who are committed to advancing pain management practices in animal care. The award is designed to encourage and reward those pursuing advanced training in veterinary medicine while demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication to improving animal welfare through effective pain management techniques.
UPEI Business Society Award
The UPEI Business Society Award is a $500 scholarship granted to a full-time student in the Business Administration program who is a member of the UPEI Business Society in the current year. The recipient must not be currently on the executive, must have demonstrated a commitment to academics, and must show enthusiasm and drive for a career in business. The UPEI Business Society is a student-run organization dedicated to enhancing the educational experiences and social well-being of students throughout their time at the School of Business. The Society undertakes many activities and initiatives each year, providing members with great opportunities to develop relationships with local business leaders, faculty members, and fellow students. Every year ends with a formal Luncheon, where a nationally/internationally known business person comes to speak to students and local business people. This scholarship was established using proceeds from the Luncheon. The successful recipient will be recommended by the UPEI Business Advisory Council in consultation with the Executive of the UPEI Business Society.
UPEI Bookstore Prize
The UPEI Bookstore Prize is awarded to the student standing second highest in third-year Business Administration at the University of Prince Edward Island. The award originated many years ago as an expression of support to UPEI students enrolled in the School of Business. In the fall of 2013, formal terms were established for the first time. This prize recognizes academic excellence among third-year students in the Business program and is selected by the university's Scholarships and Awards Committee.
University Prize - Third Year Business
This award recognizes academic excellence in the Faculty of Business at the University of Prince Edward Island. The University Prize - Third Year Business is awarded annually to the returning student who achieves the highest academic standing in the Faculty of Business after completing their third year of study. This merit-based prize is automatically considered by the university's Scholarships and Awards Committee, with no separate application required. The award provides financial recognition of $1,000 to the top-performing third-year business student, encouraging continued academic achievement as they progress toward degree completion.
University Prize - Second Year Business
