Women in STEM Scholarships

The Women in STEM Scholarships provide support for women studying towards a one-year Master's degree at Imperial College London commencing in autumn 2025-26. In partnership with the British Council, Imperial College London is offering 5 full scholarships for women who are passport holders and permanent residents of Brazil. The scholarship covers full tuition fees, an annual stipend of £25,224, return economy-class flights from home country to UK, and other related costs including English language proficiency test exam fees (if required), visa application fees, and Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS). Recipients must demonstrate financial need, have not previously studied at degree level or higher in the UK, and must return to their country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after completing their studies. Award holders are expected to act as ambassadors for the UK and engage with scholarship alumni activities.

Val O'Donoghue Scholarship (Natural Sciences)

The Val O'Donoghue Scholarship honours the legacy of Val O'Donoghue, a respected electronics engineer, entrepreneur, and technical author with a longstanding connection to Imperial College. Established through the generous support of his widow, Mrs. Maria O'Donoghue, this scholarship supports outstanding students pursuing studies in electronics, empowering them to continue Val's commitment to innovation and excellence in engineering. The award covers full home fees and provides an annual stipend for 4 years equal to the UKRI rate for London. This scholarship is available for PhD students undertaking research in the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Imperial College London. Candidates must have been assessed Home or of Irish Nationality fee status and apply to undertake research in eligible departments within the Faculty of Natural Sciences, including Centre for Environmental Policy, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Mathematics, and Physics.

The Satinder Kaur and Dr Narinder Singh Kapany Scholarship

Imperial College London offers The Satinder Kaur and Dr Narinder Singh Kapany Scholarship for the 2025/26 academic year. Established in 2024, this scholarship was named in honour of Imperial alumnus Dr Narinder Singh-Kapany and his wife Mrs Satinder Kaur. Dr Singh-Kapany was a noted scientist and renowned pioneer in the field of optics. He and his wife valued education, and their philanthropy was often dedicated to supporting the Sikh population. The scholarship aims to support financially disadvantaged, Sikh students undertaking a master's (MSc) course of study within the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Natural Sciences or Business School. The scholarship provides a maintenance grant of £19,580 to one successful applicant for the 2025/26 academic year. Applicants are ranked based on academic merit and financial need, and must identify as being a member of the Sikh community. The scholarship is available for both Home and Overseas students who have an offer to study an eligible master's degree beginning in Autumn 2025.

The Satinder Kaur and Dr Narinder Singh Kapany Scholarship

Applicants shall be ranked on the following basis: Academic merit (using your College application) and Financial need. In addition, applicants must identify as being a member of the Sikh community.

The Lee Family Scholarships

The Lee Family Scholarships support outstanding doctoral students from mainland China or Hong Kong who are pursuing PhD studies at Imperial College London. The scholarship provides full tuition fees and a generous stipend for 3.5 years, along with a consumables budget. Two scholarships are available for the 2025/2026 academic year. The program is open to students applying to PhD programs across the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Natural Sciences, and the Imperial Business School. Candidates must be new PhD applicants who ordinarily reside in mainland China or Hong Kong (excluding Taiwan) and have been classified as Overseas for fee status. The scholarship requires applicants to approach individual departments and supervisors with their proposed projects before submitting a PhD application. Departments will nominate candidates based on academic merit and potential, and Imperial's Selection Panel makes the final decision. Recipients must not intend to exercise the skills obtained from their PhD in the UK after completing their studies.

The Lee Family Scholarships

The Lee Family Scholarships support outstanding doctoral students from mainland China or Hong Kong pursuing PhD degrees at Imperial College London. The scholarship provides comprehensive funding for up to 3.5 years, covering full tuition fees, an annual stipend of £26,500, and a consumables budget to support research. Three scholarships are available for the 2026/27 academic year. The scholarships are available across four faculties: Engineering, Medicine, Natural Sciences, and the Imperial Business School. Candidates must be classified as Overseas for fee status and ordinarily reside in mainland China or Hong Kong (excluding Taiwan). The application process requires prospective PhD students to approach departments and potential supervisors with their proposed projects before submitting a complete PhD admissions application by 12 January 2026. Departments will nominate candidates based on academic merit and potential, and Imperial's Selection Panel will make final award decisions. Applicants must not intend to exercise their skills obtained from the PhD in the UK after completing their studies.

The Inlaks Scholarship

The Inlaks Scholarship is a prestigious funding opportunity offered through Imperial College London for postgraduate taught programs. This scholarship is provided by the Inlaks Foundation and is specifically designed for international students who will be classified as overseas for tuition fee purposes. The scholarship supports full-time study at Imperial College London during the 2026/2027 academic year. The Imperial – Vingroup Science and Technology Ph.D. Scholarship

The Imperial – Vingroup Science and Technology Ph.D. Scholarship is a prestigious doctoral funding opportunity for Vietnamese students pursuing research in science and technology fields. The scholarship is a collaboration between Imperial College London and the Vingroup Science & Technology Scholarship Program. This award provides comprehensive financial support for a 3.5-year PhD program at Imperial College London, covering full tuition fees, a living stipend, and £2,000 for research consumables. The scholarship is available for full-time doctoral students in specific departments within the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Natural Sciences, including Computer Science and Information Systems, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biological Sciences, and Materials Sciences. Two scholarships are available for the 2026/2027 academic year. Eligible candidates must be ordinarily resident and/or citizen of Vietnam, hold a first degree equivalent to at least a good UK second-class honours degree, and secure an offer of admission for an eligible full-time PhD course at Imperial College London. The Egyptian Bureau for Cultural & Educational Affairs PhD Scholarships

The Egyptian Bureau for Cultural & Educational Affairs PhD Scholarships program provides funding for Egyptian nationals to pursue full-time doctoral studies at Imperial College London. The scholarship covers full tuition fees for the duration of the PhD program, excluding the writing-up year and any active research period extensions. In line with the agreement between The Egyptian Bureau for Cultural & Educational Affairs and Imperial College London, Imperial will cover 30% of tuition fees for successful applicants. Five scholarships are available for the 2026/2027 academic year across a wide range of departments including engineering, medicine, natural sciences, and business. Applicants must be assessed as overseas fee status and must apply both through Imperial College London's application portal and through the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Egypt.
