Western New York Medical Scholarship Fund - Catholic Health
The Western New York Medical Scholarship Fund - Catholic Health was established in 2013 by the Highgate Medical Group P.C. and is supported by other donors. This scholarship is awarded to medical students from Western New York who are enrolled at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo. The recipient must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, a resident of New York State, and a graduate from a high school located within the eight counties of Western New York. Additionally, the recipient must have a relative who currently works in the Catholic Health System. Preference is given to students who have expressed interest in practicing primary care (Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Obstetrics and Gynecology) within the eight counties of Western New York upon completion of their medical training.
Frontier Award for International Understanding
The Frontier Award for International Understanding is a scholarship award offered by the University at Buffalo for students who have made the greatest contribution to the cause of international understanding. This award recognizes students who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to fostering cross-cultural dialogue, promoting global awareness, and advancing international cooperation. Eligible candidates must reside in either Erie or Niagara County in New York State. The award provides $500 to support the recipient's educational endeavors.
