Innlandet fylkeskommune offers grants to owners and managers of medieval ruins for conservation and maintenance activities. Since 2020, the county municipality has been responsible for grants for the conservation of medieval ruins. Through these grants, the Cultural Heritage Management aims to achieve ruins with a condition that provides a normal maintenance level (condition grade 1), and desires that all ruins have updated plans for care, maintenance, and monitoring. The grants support long-term and demanding preservation and conservation projects for medieval ruins. Priority is given to conservation projects already underway, as well as projects that ensure competence in conservation and care of masonry across all counties with medieval ruins. Funding is available for conservation, documentation, care/maintenance/monitoring, dissemination, and competence development related to medieval ruins.
