Physics Department Prize in Modern Physics
This award is presented to the student ranking highest in Physics 221 based on the recommendation of the Chair of the Physics Department. The prize was established by Dr. Derek Lawther, a faculty member of the Department of Physics at UPEI, to recognize academic achievement and to encourage students to consider majoring or minoring in physics. The award is valued at $200 and is available to current second-year students enrolled in the Faculty of Science at the University of Prince Edward Island.
Physics Department Prize
The Physics Department Prize is awarded to the top first-year student who has declared Physics as their choice of Major with the Registrar's Office and is enrolled in Physics 221 and 211 in their second year. The student with the highest marks in Physics 111, 122, or 112 and Math 151 and 152 will be selected. This prize was created by the Physics Department in 2006 to recognize the top performing first year student who is returning to second year and intending to major in Physics at UPEI.
