Zahra Memorial Scholarship
The Zahra Memorial Scholarship is offered annually to continuing undergraduate students enrolled in fourth year in the Haskayne School of Business with a concentration in Finance at the University of Calgary. The scholarship recognizes academic merit and emphasizes the importance of community engagement through extra-curricular activities or interests involving community service or volunteerism. Established by the friends and family of Zahra, this award provides up to $1,000 to support students who demonstrate both academic excellence and a commitment to giving back to their community. Four scholarships are available each year to eligible fourth-year Finance students.
Younger Family Scholarship in Medicine
The Younger Family Scholarship in Medicine is offered annually to one student entering first year in the Cumming School of Medicine, MD program at the University of Calgary. The scholarship, valued at up to $3,000, is awarded based on the admission rating as determined by the Admissions Committee. Recipients must demonstrate leadership and involvement in campus or community extra-curricular activities such as cultural and athletic activities. This scholarship is an internal award made possible through the generous support of the Family of Dr. Andrew H. Younger. Students are selected through a nomination process managed by the Cumming School of Medicine.
Women Empowerment Foundation Scholarship
The Women Empowerment Foundation Scholarship was created to help power the movement of female leaders by inspiring and enabling women to pursue higher education. The foundation envisions a future where every woman has the ability and rights to excel, irrespective of her background or circumstances. There are a total of 3 grants of $2,500 each available: one open to all female students who are Canadian residents applying for an undergraduate program in a Canadian post-secondary institute; the second is for females pursuing an education/career in STEM; and the third is for BIPOC females pursuing an undergraduate program in a Canadian post-secondary institute. Recipients will be chosen based on their commitment to academics, community service, and participation in extracurricular activities. This scholarship is specifically designed for female students who identify as female, are residing in Canada, and are planning to attend post-secondary school in Canada. The award supports first-year undergraduate students entering any faculty at the University of Calgary.
Woitas Family Leaders Scholarship
The Woitas Family Leaders Scholarship was established by Linda and Clayton Woitas and family to recognize the leadership, academic and entrepreneurial ability of students pursuing an undergraduate degree at the University of Calgary. This scholarship is offered annually to undergraduate students in the Schulich School of Engineering and Haskayne School of Business who are enrolled in the Bachelor of Science (Engineering) and Bachelor of Commerce combined degree program. The award recognizes students who demonstrate academic merit along with leadership qualities and entrepreneurial ability. Two scholarships of $10,000 each are available annually to eligible students who are in their second, third, or fourth year of study in the combined Engineering and Business degree program.
Wilma F. Dobson Entrance Scholarship in Nursing
The Wilma F. Dobson Entrance Scholarship in Nursing is an annual entrance scholarship offered to undergraduate students entering their first year in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Calgary. This scholarship was established by Pembina Corporation in honour of T.S. Dobson on the occasion of his retirement from the Board of Directors of Pembina Resources Limited. William Reid Scholarship
The William Reid Scholarship is an annual award offered to continuing undergraduate students at the University of Calgary. Established by Joan Van Housen in memory of her father, William Reid, with additional contributions from family, friends and colleagues on the occasion of Joan's retirement as director of Student Awards and Financial Aid at the University of Calgary. The scholarship is valued at up to $1,400 and is awarded to one student per year based on academic merit. The scholarship is open to continuing undergraduate students in any faculty who are entering their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study. There are no citizenship or residency restrictions for this award, making it accessible to both domestic and international students at the University of Calgary.
William M. Norton Scholarship
The William M. Norton Scholarship is offered annually to a continuing undergraduate student in the Faculty of Science at the University of Calgary who intends to pursue an MD program. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit with a minimum GPA requirement of 3.50. Recipients must be Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents. Preference is given to students who graduated from a Calgary high school. In the case of a tie between equally qualified candidates, financial need will be taken into consideration.
William M. Gallacher Scholarship in Engineering

William (Bill) Inmon Scholarship for Excellence in Business & Data Analytics
The William (Bill) Inmon Scholarship for Excellence in Business & Data Analytics is offered annually to a continuing undergraduate student enrolled in the Haskayne School of Business in the Business Analytics concentration. This scholarship recognizes academic merit and provides financial support to students excelling in the field of business data analytics. The scholarship is made possible through the generous support of Wade Walker and Dr. Kewal Dhariwal through the Data Management Conference - Canada. This award is designed to support students pursuing excellence in the specialized area of business analytics at the University of Calgary.
Wigham Family Undergraduate Scholarship
The Wigham Family Undergraduate Scholarship is offered annually to undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Calgary. This scholarship supports students with a demonstrated interest in Mediterranean studies, particularly those majoring or minoring in Greek and Roman Studies, Ancient and Medieval History, or Archaeology. The award is specifically designed to defray travel expenses associated with overseas study or fieldwork in the Mediterranean or Europe. Recipients must demonstrate academic merit with a minimum GPA of 3.00 and show proven interest in Mediterranean studies. Preference is given to applicants with confirmed registration in either an academic course in Mediterranean studies or a field excavation in the Mediterranean or Europe. While students must be enrolled full time, they need not be carrying a full course load. Recipients may be required to give a public presentation of their project upon return from their overseas study or fieldwork experience.
Wigham Family Entrance Scholarship in Humanities and Social Sciences
The Wigham Family Entrance Scholarship in Humanities and Social Sciences is offered annually to undergraduate students entering their first year in the Arts and Science Honours Academy in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Calgary. This scholarship recognizes superior academic achievement in high school and requires a scholarship average greater than 90.0%. Established through the generous support of donors Darol and Ev Wigham, this scholarship provides financial assistance to outstanding incoming students pursuing studies in humanities and social sciences disciplines. Up to ten awards of $1,000 each are available annually to qualified students who demonstrate exceptional academic excellence. Students are nominated through the High School Nominated Awards program for new students.
Weyland Scholarship
The Weyland Scholarship is offered annually to a continuing undergraduate student in the Faculty of Arts, majoring in Political Science at the University of Calgary. Established in memory of Chilton Mewburn Weyland, Maurice Chilton Weyland and Richard Walter Weyland by Mrs. Henrietta Weyland, this scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate interest and ability in the area of constitutional studies. The award is valued at up to $1,500 and one award is available each year. Recipients are selected based on academic merit and their demonstrated interest and ability in constitutional studies. This is an internal scholarship that requires nomination through the university's undergraduate continuing student application process. Eligible students must be continuing undergraduates (in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year) enrolled in the Faculty of Arts with a major in Political Science. There are no citizenship or residency restrictions for this award. Western Canada College Old Boys' Memorial Scholarship
The Western Canada College Old Boys' Memorial Scholarship is offered annually to undergraduate students entering any faculty at the University of Calgary. This scholarship recognizes graduates of Western Canada High School who have demonstrated outstanding service to the student body consistent with high academic achievement. Eligible students must demonstrate involvement in two or more of the following areas: athletics, cultural affairs, student government, or community service. Up to three awards valued at up to $1,700 each are available annually through this scholarship program established by the Western Canada College Old Boy's Association.
Werklund Community Engaged Leadership Scholarship - Two-Year After-Degree Pathway
This scholarship is offered annually to undergraduate students entering the first year of the Two-Year Bachelor of Education After-Degree Pathway program in the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary. The award recognizes students who demonstrate academic merit and extra-curricular volunteer activities related to youth or education that demonstrate leadership and community service. The scholarship is renewable in the second (final) year of the program, provided recipients maintain enrolment in the Werklund School of Education and achieve a GPA of at least 3.20 over a minimum of 24.00 units in the previous academic year. Students must be selected through nomination by the Werklund School of Education faculty, and applications should be submitted to Undergraduate Programs in Education.
Werklund Community Engaged Leadership Scholarship - Four Year
This scholarship is offered annually to undergraduate students entering the Four-Year Bachelor of Education degree program in the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary. Both high school and transfer applicants may be considered. The scholarship recognizes academic merit along with extra-curricular activities related to youth or education that demonstrate leadership and community service. The award is renewable in the second, third, and fourth year of the Four-Year Bachelor of Education degree program, provided recipients maintain enrolment in the Werklund School of Education and achieve a minimum GPA of 3.20 based on an annual academic review. Students entering the program with transfer credit who intend to complete the program in less than four years will be required to follow a program plan approved by the Werklund School of Education. Applications are submitted to Undergraduate Programs in Education, and eligible students are selected by the faculty with recipient names provided to Student Financial Support for official notification.
Werklund Community Engaged Leadership Scholarship - Five Year Concurrent Pathway
This scholarship is offered annually to continuing undergraduate students entering the fourth year of the Five-Year Bachelor of Education Concurrent Pathway program in the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary. The award recognizes students who demonstrate academic merit along with extra-curricular volunteer activities related to youth or education that show leadership and community service. The scholarship is renewable in the fifth (final) year of the program, provided recipients maintain enrollment in the Werklund School of Education and achieve a GPA of at least 3.20 over a minimum 24.00 units in the previous academic year. Eligible students are selected by the faculty and recipient names are provided to Undergraduate Awards for official notification.
Wayne Hugo Memorial Scholarship
The Wayne Hugo Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Wayne Hugo who lost his life while enjoying his love of the mountains. This scholarship is offered annually to a continuing undergraduate student entering fourth year in the Schulich School of Engineering, majoring in Chemical Engineering. The award is valued at up to $2,500 and is based on academic merit. This memorial scholarship honors Wayne Hugo's legacy while supporting outstanding engineering students pursuing their education in chemical engineering at the University of Calgary.
W.L. Britton Scholarship
The W.L. Britton Scholarship is designed to reward well rounded, contributing students who have the potential to become excellent lawyers as well as leaders in the profession and in the community. This scholarship is offered annually to a student entering second or third year in the Faculty of Law, JD program at the University of Calgary. The award recognizes students who demonstrate high academic standing (placed in the top third of their class) along with demonstrated teamwork and leadership qualities, as evidenced through participation in competitive sports and/or volunteerism conducted either within the community, working life or the university during the past five years. Applicants must submit a 500-word statement summarizing their teamwork and leadership qualities at the University, within the community or through sports participation.
W.G. (Bill) Howard Memorial Foundation Entrance Scholarship
The W.G. (Bill) Howard Memorial Foundation Entrance Scholarship is offered annually to undergraduate students entering first year in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary. The scholarship is provided in memory of the late Bill Howard, a graduate of the Engineering Class of '73 at the University of Calgary. The award recognizes academic merit, extra-curricular activities, and demonstrated leadership ability through involvement in the community, clubs and organizations while in high school. This entrance scholarship supports exceptional incoming engineering students who have shown commitment to their communities and leadership potential during their high school years.
Vivian Stevenson Scholarship
The Vivian Stevenson Scholarship is offered annually to undergraduate students entering their first year at the University of Calgary. This scholarship is awarded based on academic merit and is available to students entering any faculty. The award is funded by the Estate of Vivian Stevenson and provides financial support to recognize outstanding academic achievement among incoming undergraduate students. Viscount Bennett Undergraduate Scholarship
The Viscount Bennett Undergraduate Scholarship is offered annually to continuing undergraduate students in any faculty at the University of Calgary. Established from a trust created by the late Right Honourable Viscount Bennett, P.C., K.C., LL.D., D.C.L., of Calgary and Mickelham, this scholarship recognizes academic merit, good character, and satisfactory personal qualities. The scholarship is available to students who have resided for at least five consecutive years in Calgary, or within 32 kilometers of that city, or in Banff National Park. This award provides $1,000 to support deserving undergraduate students in their continued studies.
Viscount Bennett Entrance Scholarship
The Viscount Bennett Entrance Scholarship is offered annually to undergraduate students entering their first year in any faculty at the University of Calgary. The scholarship was established from a trust created by the late Right Honourable Viscount Bennett, P.C., K.C., LL.D., D.C.L., of Calgary and Mickelham. Awards are granted on the basis of academic merit and good character, demonstrating satisfactory personal qualities. To be eligible, applicants must have resided for at least five consecutive years in Calgary, or within 32 kilometers of that city, or in Banff National Park. The scholarship provides $1,000 in funding and a variable number of awards are available each year.
Vincent M. Bjorndahl Scholarship
The Vincent M. Bjorndahl Scholarship is an annual award offered to continuing students entering second or third year in the Faculty of Law, JD program at the University of Calgary. Established in memory of Vincent M. Bjorndahl by Felesky Flynn, this scholarship recognizes superior academic merit and demonstrated initiative and leadership qualities through participation in extra-curricular activities within the law school or in the community. Victor Nicholas Ruryk Scholarship in Mind Sciences

University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship
The University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship is offered annually to undergraduate international students entering first year in any undergraduate degree program in the upcoming fall term. The scholarship provides $20,000 annually and is renewable for up to four years of study. Recipients must have satisfied the university's English Language Proficiency requirement and demonstrated academic merit. The scholarship is renewable in the second, third and fourth year at the University of Calgary, provided recipients achieve a GPA of 2.60 or more over a minimum of 24.00 units in the previous fall and winter terms and continue to pay an international differential tuition fee as an international student. Urban and Regional Information Systems Association Scholarship
The Urban and Regional Information Systems Association Scholarship is offered annually by the Alberta Chapter of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association to support students in geomatics and geographic information systems fields. TransAlta Corporation Memorial Scholarship
The TransAlta Corporation Memorial Scholarship is offered annually to continuing undergraduate students entering second year in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary. This scholarship was established by TransAlta Corporation in memory of G.A. Gaherty, late Chairperson of the Board of Calgary Power Ltd. (now known as TransAlta Corporation). The scholarship recognizes academic merit and supports students pursuing engineering studies.
