Surrey/ICE Scholarship

The Surrey/ICE Scholarship is a collaboration between the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), the University of Surrey, and leading companies in the civil engineering industry. The scholarship provides a bursary of £1,950 every year combined with salaried training in industry throughout the course of study. Successful applicants are matched with a suitable company mid-way through their first year, where they receive practical training throughout their degree program. Students spend the summer vacation after each academic year doing paid training with their sponsor company. This unique combination of industrial training and academic study is designed to enhance career potential and provide a fast-track route to employment upon graduation and chartered engineer status. The scheme offers students the opportunity to integrate theoretical learning with real-world experience in civil engineering, gaining up to 16 months of industry experience by the time they graduate.

International Excellence Award (postgraduate)

The International Excellence Award is a prestigious scholarship recognising academic excellence for international students starting a masters degree at the University of Surrey. The award provides a £5,000 fee waiver to support self-funded international fee-paying students regardless of nationality or domicile. The scheme is application-based with awards decided by a scholarship awards panel. Applications are reviewed monthly on a first-come, first-served basis. All scholarships must be allocated before a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is issued, and students are encouraged to apply early. The award is designed to attract high-achieving international students to pursue postgraduate taught programs at Surrey.
