This is a Norwegian forestry grant program that provides subsidies for road construction in forest areas. The program supports both new construction of forest roads and reconstruction of existing forest roads. The main objective is to improve access to forest and wilderness resources, facilitating better forest management and utilization. Municipalities determine annually which types of forest road projects are eligible for subsidies in their area, and the most common supported activities include new construction of forest vehicle roads and reconstruction of existing forest vehicle roads. In some parts of the country, subsidies are also available for building heavier tractor roads (road class 7) that serve forestry purposes. The road must be approved according to regulations for planning and approval of agricultural roads, built according to current standards, and maintained to the original standard. The subsidy rates may vary between municipalities, counties, and regions.
