Radiumhemmets Forskningsfonder

Radiumhemmets Forskningsfonder finances clinical patient-centered cancer research for improved diagnostics and more effective individualized cancer treatment. The foundation supports clinical patient-centered cancer research and translational research within Region Stockholm. To be eligible for a grant, the research project must have a clear connection to clinical cancer treatment or cancer diagnostics with direct patient connection or clear translational research focus. Applications from younger researchers are encouraged. The selection of research focus is based on the fact that basic and preclinical research has several other sources of funding, while patient-centered research has more difficulty obtaining financial support.

NCU Strategic Funds for Improvement Projects

Nordic Cancer Union

The Nordic Cancer Union provides funding for strategic improvement projects of high standard within the field of cancer. These projects aim at ameliorating relevant cancer problems in the member countries and must meet strict requirements aligned with NCU's statutes and strategy. The implementation of strategic improvement projects focuses on enhancing infrastructure and cooperation across Nordic countries, with preference given to projects that involve health care professionals and/or researchers from two or more Nordic countries. These improvement projects must be uniquely suited for implementation in Nordic countries and should enhance infrastructure and cooperation with synergistic effects. As major emphases of the NCU are to enhance collaborative research, research-related projects are of special interest. The NCU provides funding to support high quality projects of relevance to cancer within the Nordic countries with added Nordic value, based on common Nordic priorities and current interests as identified by the board. Applications can be submitted at any time on a rolling basis. The projects should reflect the current general strategy of the NCU and comparisons between Nordic countries are essential for development and work on diverse cancer research programmes. Priority is given to projects and initiatives that enhance the likelihood of higher efficiency and results through Nordic collaboration.
