Rogaland fylkeskommune provides annual grants to municipalities in Rogaland for traffic safety measures on county and municipal roads. The funding is specifically intended for traffic safety initiatives along school routes for children and young people. Municipalities can apply for support for both physical and non-physical traffic safety measures on municipal roads, as well as planning and implementation projects on county roads. For municipal roads, grants cover up to 50% of costs. The program supports various initiatives including development of traffic safety plans, traffic safety campaigns targeting children and youth, regulatory planning, technical drawings, and physical implementation of safety measures. The municipality acts as project owner and bears responsibility for any cost increases. Funds must be utilized within three years of allocation, with possible one-year extension by agreement.
