Network Projects - Open Call
The Network Projects programme is a flexible, year-round open call that provides access to national funding for international collaborative R&D projects through the Eureka network. The programme supports international cooperation in research and development with a simplified application process. Projects must represent international cooperation between at least two independent legal entities from different Eureka participating countries, with the goal of researching or developing a product, process, or service with civilian purposes. The programme operates on a rolling basis from January 1, 2025 to January 1, 2030, allowing organizations to apply at any time throughout the year. Funding is provided through national funding bodies in each participating country, with rates varying by country and organization type. The programme welcomes SMEs, large companies, universities, and research organizations from over 45 participating countries including European nations, Canada, South Korea, Brazil, Chile, Singapore, and South Africa. Each country has its own specific funding mechanisms, eligibility criteria, and application procedures that must be followed in addition to the central Eureka application.
Eurostars call for projects – March 2026
Eurostars is a funding instrument that supports innovative SMEs and project partners (large companies, universities, research organisations and other types of organisations) by funding international collaborative R&D and innovation projects. By participating, organisations can access public funding for international collaborative R&D projects in all fields. The programme is part of the European Partnership on Innovative SMEs, co-funded by the European Union through Horizon Europe. To have a successful application, applicants must define their project idea, collaborate internationally sharing expertise, and develop products, processes or services that can be easily commercialised. The project consortium must have an innovative SME in the leading role, but can also include other types of organisations like large companies, universities, research organisations and more.
SMART 9th call for projects – 2025
The SMART 9th call for projects is a bottom-up call for R&D projects that align with SMART's technology roadmap. SMART is a EUREKA Cluster initiative that supports international collaborative R&D projects focused on advanced manufacturing and related technologies. The call is open to companies, research organisations, and universities from 22 participating countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Projects must involve international consortia and focus on innovative technologies with commercial potential. The program provides national funding through participating country agencies, with funding rates and amounts varying by country and organization type. This call represents an opportunity for organizations to collaborate on cutting-edge manufacturing and production technologies while receiving substantial government support for their research and development activities. The initiative aims to strengthen international R&D cooperation, reduce technological uncertainty in high-tech product development, and enhance companies' innovation capacities while addressing global market opportunities.
Network Projects - Sustainable Cities 2025
The EARTH Innovation Alliance (E5) Call for Projects on Sustainable Cities is a funding opportunity for international collaborative R&D projects addressing carbon-neutral cities and sustainable urban development. This call has been launched by Austria, Finland, Israel, Singapore, and Sweden following Eureka's Network Projects framework. Projects must focus on developing innovative technologies and solutions that help cities meet social and economic needs while operating within ecological limits. Eligible research areas include advanced materials for the built environment, sustainable energy, resource circularity, and urban mobility. Projects must involve at least two independent legal entities from a minimum of two participating countries, with clear commercialization goals and market launch expected within 24 months of project completion. The initiative aims to accelerate development and scale-up of breakthrough climate technologies through cross-sector innovation and public-private co-innovation.
Globalstars call with Japan
The Globalstars call with Japan is an international collaborative R&D funding opportunity under the Eureka Network. This call supports transnational research and development projects between Japan and participating Eureka countries including Austria, Belgium (Flanders), Canada, Denmark, France, Israel, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. The program funds projects that aim to develop innovative products, processes, or services with commercial potential. Project consortia must include at least two independent legal entities from Japan and at least one other participating Eureka country. The program excludes technologies associated with nuclear power and drug discovery but welcomes applications across various sectors including quantum technology, artificial intelligence, robotics, semiconductors, electronics, energy and environment, biotechnology, new materials, medical devices, aerospace, mining, and other industrial technologies. Projects must have a civilian purpose and demonstrate clear commercialization plans. Each participating country has its own national funding agency with specific eligibility criteria, funding rates, and application procedures.
