Eligible projects include development of information boards, access roads, parking areas, trails, fishing spots, accessibility improvements for persons with reduced mobility, beaches, docks, toilets, waste facilities, planting and maintenance, and cultural heritage communication. Only local management authorities - municipalities and regional outdoor recreation councils - can apply. A mandatory requirement is that applicants have an approved management plan for the outdoor recreation area. The scheme prioritizes areas in or near cities and densely populated areas, heavily used or potentially heavily used areas, areas with limited accessible shoreline under significant pressure, and areas connected to inland waterways. Projects with co-financing or volunteer work contributions receive priority. The application deadline is December 1st annually.
