The National Northern Development Conference Engineering Trust is awarded to students with satisfactory academic standing enrolled in any year of an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Alberta. Selection is based on academic standing and demonstrated interest in Canada's Northern lands. Students are automatically considered for this award based on their completed General Application through the university's scholarship portal.

The APEGA Education Foundation Award in Engineering is awarded to students with satisfactory academic standing entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Alberta. Selection is based on admission average and indicated financial need. The award is funded through an endowment by the APEGA Education Foundation to support incoming engineering students at the start of their academic journey.
