Arts Graduate Scholarship

Alberta Student Aid

The Arts Graduate Scholarship encourages and recognizes Alberta students who have demonstrated outstanding abilities in the arts to pursue graduate studies in Alberta institutions and other institutions outside Alberta. This scholarship has been funded through the Alberta Heritage Scholarship Fund. Up to seven scholarships of $15,000 each are available for master level or equivalent level of study in music, drama, dance and literary or visual arts. Recipients may hold other scholarships and accept remunerative assignments depending on the policy of the institution they attend. An individual may receive a lifetime maximum of two scholarships.

Winifred Paton Award

University of Prince Edward Island

The Winifred Paton Award is awarded to a second-, third-, or fourth-year full-time student who is talented and working toward an Arts or Music degree, and who has a demonstrated financial need. This award was established through the Estate of Elaine Harrison. Winifred Paton was a dear friend of Dr. Elaine Harrison. This scholarship, in memory of Winifred Paton, was created to assist students wishing to study music at the University of Prince Edward Island, and to recognize superior dedication and performance.

UPEI Music Society Awards

University of Prince Edward Island

The UPEI Music Society Awards recognize outstanding full-time Music students who demonstrate exceptional dedication to the department community. Two awards of $500 each are presented annually to students who have exceptional volunteer records with the Music Society's fundraising events, regularly participate in other Music Society activities, and go above and beyond in contributing to the department community. The UPEI Music Society is an active student organization within the Music Department whose mandate is to initiate fundraising projects which provide monies for student scholarships, and to create awareness within the university community and general public of the UPEI Music Department programs, students and activities. Membership in the Music Society is free and anyone can participate: students, faculty and supporters of the Music Department.

UPEI Music Performance Competition

University of Prince Edward Island

The UPEI Music Performance Competition is an annual or bi-annual competition held in January for students in the Faculty of Arts. This award recognizes musical excellence through a competitive performance event, with prizes awarded to first-place, second-place, third-place winners, and finalists. Recipients are recommended by the Department of Music based on their performance in the competition, making it a merit-based opportunity that celebrates outstanding musical talent and achievement among UPEI students.
